Kalen Covington
LMSW

Kalen Covington, LMSW
Ages 13+
Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but I believe in the power of resilience and post-traumatic growth—the idea that individuals can experience meaningful transformation after adversity. I specialize in PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder, using trauma-focused, attachment-based, DBT, CBT, and somatic approaches to help clients process their experiences and take control of their healing journey. With a background in crisis response for the Red Cross disaster team and extensive work with veterans and military families, I understand the unique struggles many individuals face and strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients feel empowered.
Originally from Wilmington, NC, I’ve moved often due to my husband’s military career but am excited to plant roots in Delaware, where we have close friends and a love for the East Coast. I believe therapy should be a team effort, where clients feel heard, validated, and actively involved in shaping their treatment. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching anime, gaming on my PC, and going on hikes with my high-energy Australian shepherd, Aki. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to support you in finding growth, meaning, and joy—even in the face of life’s challenges.

I talk to people everyday who are facing difficult challenges in life, both past and present. If this is you, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and work together to create a plan for therapy that will lead to feeling better and to the resolution of your past difficulties. I offer individual and family therapy to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational issues. I specialize in EMDR Therapy, the integration of spirituality and psychology, and those touched by the circle of adoption. In addition, I am a Neurofeedback practitioner.
Treating trauma is my specialty both for children and adults. I often use EMDR therapy, which I have found to work very well for many clients and it is a research based therapy. Currently, I am an approved consultant and trainer in EMDR Therapy. I also offer Alpha-Stim treatment.
I specialize in working with those who have been touched by the circle of adoption, including individuals who have been adopted, adoptive families, and birth families.
